Hailey Jane is a Canadian-based company specializing in custom jewellery and workshops. Hailey, who is both the artist and entrepreneur behind the name, started her journey as a jewellery maker in Northern Italy, where she learned the intricacies, quality, and workmanship of Italian jewellery-making. Enamoured by Venetian beads and the contrasting beauty that existed between feminine and vintage pieces, Hailey soon realized there was an opportunity to build a business inspired by her passion. Her modern take on this design juxtaposition has earned her praise as she continues her craft back home in Canada. Working closely with clients through consultations and workshops allowed Hailey to gain a better understanding of the market, and how she wanted to position Hailey Jane as the brand began to mature and evolve.
As the business quickly grew, it underwent a rebrand to achieve a more cohesive and effortless style that better matched the elegance of the jewellery, and the quality of the service being offered. Hailey sourced Early Riser Studio to build a website which would showcase the new brand, and help further expand the business. Alongside designer Katrina, we adapted a free-flowing Shopify theme to include more structured and consistent elements, providing balance and sophistication. We maintained a clean and simple design throughout, with white space and a neutral colour palette to spotlight the high-quality product imagery. The website’s primary business goal was to drive engagement to Hailey Jane’s core offering: the bespoke jewelry process.
The homepage was designed to showcase products and inspire customers. We customized the theme with subtle feminine touches and changed the large free-flowing images to a more streamlined grid-layout to help customers navigate more products with ease. We organized the site with Shop, Custom, and Workshops options at the top of the hierarchy, reflected in the main site navigation. Scaling down the original 100% height of the navigation menu with smaller font-sizes and new typography allowed us to focus customers’ attention on the site content while exploring. Lastly, we designed and built an entirely new page for the custom jewelry process. Being the main goal of the website, and Hailey Jane’s main offering, we wanted this page to demonstrate the unique value of the bespoke process, and get customers excited to connect and create with Hailey. The site continues to be a local favourite and we're excited to watch the company's continued growth.
